Darling West

Darling West

Darling West experienced a spectacular breakthrough in their musical career after the release of their second album, «Vinyl and a Heartache» in 2016. They were awarded a Norwegian Spellemann award (equivalent of Grammy), listed on Norway’s biggest radio channels and appeared on the Top 100 Country charts in the US. They have played shows all over the world – among the highlights are several of Norway’s biggest festivals, SXSW in Texas, Americanafest in Nashville, a tour with Sam Outlaw and a support slot for Lucinda Williams. Those are many highlights. They have also had more than three million plays on Spotify, appearing in several influential playlists.

Always ambitious and restless, the band didn’t rest on their acquired laurels.

Contrarily, they headed straight into the studio to record the follow-up to «Vinyl and a Heartache». Darling West’s third album, the self-produced «While I Was Asleep», contains ten new songs, and will be out February 16th, 2018.

Although they have added drums, the band stays true to their sound and still plays the sweet americana/country/folk they are known for. Moreover, the new album demonstrates a revitalized Darling West, with more drive in the music and even catchier melodies than before.

Darling West’s career continues to be on the up, and 2018 promises to be their biggest year so far. In January they played three shows at the prestigious Eurosonic music festival in the Netherlands and unveiled the album’s fourth single, «Loneliness». A visit to Folk Alliance in Kansas City coincides with the album release date, and provides a fitting arena for the launch of «While I Was Asleep».

Avi Vinocur

Avi Vinocur is a San Francisco singer, guitarist, producer, and preternaturally talented songwriter -- a modern musician with an old soul's gift for storytelling.

NO CAUSE FOR ALARM is the first major solo work from Vinocur, who's built a national following in rock and Americana circles as the co-frontman of Goodnight, Texas (and, previously, The Stone Foxes). An urgent, cathartic record written in fits of inspiration during the first tumultuous months of 2017, the album eschews simple, knee-jerk political messages; Vinocur, who's toured every state in the continental U.S., chooses instead to indulge his deep curiosity about the regular people who make up our vast American landscape.

Since his 2017 record, Avi’s work with Goodnight, Texas and The Stone Foxes was featured in major ad campaigns for Coors Banquet Beer and Budweiser Beer, as well as the Academy Award winning National Geographic documentary “Free Solo” about Alex Honnold’s ropeless ascent of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.

Also notably, Avi was tapped to perform backing vocals, mandolin, and guitar with Metallica at their 2018 “All Within My Hands” benefit show at San Francisco’s Masonic Theatre. The show was released shortly thereafter on February 1, 2019 as Metallica’s first official live acoustic record.
